We once visited Nayong Pilipino when I was little and that was the one that is found near the Manila International Airport (now Ninoy Aquino International Airport). I vividly remember running around the park and being amazed at how a miniature Mayon Volcano "sprouted" there. I'm happy to visit Nayong Pilipino once more but, this time, it's Nayong Pilipino sa Clark Expo which is located at the Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.
Like its predecessor in Manila, Nayong Pilipino (Philippine Village) sa Clark Expo features bits and pieces of Philippine heritage and culture in its three-hectare property. It's actually a good place to learn more about Philippine history which is perfect for kids. the place is divided into the Pre-Colonial Plaza and the Colonial Plaza.
It was raining the day we visited the place so we weren't able to really go around the property especially in the areas that did not have cemented pavements. But since it was a Sunday, we were able to hear mass inside the mini Barasoain Church.
After the mass, we proceeded to the theater where we watched the Nayong Pilipino Dance Troupe perform a medley of traditional dances. We did not only learn so much about our Filipino culture through the dances that were performed but we also enjoyed dancing the Tinikling and playing the Kulintang.
Nayong Pilipino sa Clark Expo is located at Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. The park is open everyday from 8 am to 6 pm. Sunday Masses are held inside the Barasoain Church every 10 am. Meanwhile, the Nayong Pilipino Dance Troupe performs at the theater from every 11 am and 2 pm from Wednesday to Sunday. I also learned from the brochure I got from the place that there is a shuttle service from SM City Clark Main Gate from 8am to 6pm.
