All pilgrims are invited by the Servants of the Risen Christ Monastic Community to attend the celebration of the Holy Eucharist to commemorate the fifth enshrinement anniversary of the relic of the Holy Cross on January 30, 2012. The mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. at Monaserio de Tarlac Plaza, Mount of Resurrection, Eco-Park, San Jose Tarlac.
Presiding the Holy Mass will be Most Rev. Socrates B. Villegas, DD, Archbishop of Lingayen-Dagupan together with Most Rev. Florentino F. Cinense, DD, Bishop of Tarlac and other bishops and priests. The exposition and veneration of the relic of the Holy Cross follows after the Eucharistic celebration and will last up to 4:00 p.m.
A silver arqueta holds the actual fragment of the true cross and it is found at the foot of the altar behind grilled doors. It's closely guarded by local authorities and the relic is venerated by monks seven times a day. The public only gets the chance to do veneration twice a year, every January 30 and September 14.
Everyone is invited to come early as limited parking slots are available, the gates of the monastery will open at 5:00 a.m. There will be food kiosk within the picnic area, but guests may bring their own snacks and refreshments. Foods are also available for sale.
